Philosophy

We believe Harlan Elementary School should provide a healthy, wholesome learning environment which meets the intellectual, social, psychological, aesthetic, and physical needs of all elementary students. We believe each person has a responsibility to contribute positively to that environment. We believe each child has personal worth, is unique in his or her own special interests, needs, and talents, and is entitled to be treated with respect.

We believe it is important that a child's school experience be applicable to today's technology and changing society. We believe that it is important for elementary students to achieve the success so important for the following years of formal education and for life in general.

Vision

Harlan Elementary School is a community of cooperative, proud, respectful, and responsible citizens where all students are successful learners.
