Welcome to Harlan Elementary School, a public school dedicated to the education of 2nd graders in Oelwein, Iowa. We are the only Oelwein in the world. The philosophy of Harlan Elementary School incorporates community members, teachers, parents, administrators, and the board of education as a collaborative unit for the purpose of educating the whole child. These partners create an educational environment which will allow each child to develop a sense of academic responsibility, a positive self-image, pride and support for family, school and community, and the opportunity to reach his/her highest potential.
